KIDS FESTIVALS

The kids' festivals are seasonal themes held at The Bay Road Gallery to promote a wholistic way to balance physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Each event is either a colour playshop involving drawing, colour chart choices, and teaching a healthy expression of emotions; a storytelling involving children participating through language and movement; a puppet show with music and visuals that are calming as well as evocative; a music program where the children get drawn into the story and help make music; a Wannabee vegetable patch dig and plant that gives the children hands-on experience of gardening and connecting to the Earth.

The adults are catered for with videos, talks and a storymaking workshop on subjects of "Conflict Resolution" "Nutrition" and "Children's Wellbeing".

If you wish to find out more about The Bay Road Gallery and our Kid's Festivals, please phone Danielle Allen at THe Bay Road Gallery on 9655 1674 or Melinda Lewis on 0417 422 191.

A STORY MAKING COURSE - Echoes in the MIND

A distance education course for adult learners

Echoes in the Mind is a therapeutic story making and story telling correspondence course for adult learners.

Once upon a time we innately told therapeutic and healing stories. They hold magical metaphors which hold great meaning in our minds – just like an echo. Such stories have faded.

Parents, teachers, carers or anyone working in holistic, health and family therapies wishing to have impact on the wellbeing of their children or clients can access therapeutic storytelling.

16 week course – 1 lesson per week + feedback (dialogue) every 4 weeks

Intakes in Feb, May, July, Oct 2006

“Even as an adult, I love to hear a story – its subliminal healing powers have enabled me to live with less anger. I could not have done it without starting this course.” B. Jacks

THE WINTERFEST 4 KIDS AT ARCADIA WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!!
... the program for both the children and the adults was outstanding and everyone who attended left with a great feeling of contentment from having had a full day.

The Puppet Show was brilliant and Peter and Veronica launched the Wannabee Foundation "Klever Kid" song which was great. All the children were singing it with their chests out and then flying like a bee. They are arranging it to be on a CD so the Klever Kid song and other bee and animal songs can reach a wider audience.

The children made lanterns and lit the candles inside for the winter fest, and everyone had a great time with the Drumming. I was amazed to see that there were drums for everyone to participate...children and parents all banging away on the drums.

Next Fest 4 Kids is in Spring and we plan to go bigger and bolder.
