Echoes in the MIND
A 16 week distance education course for adult learners
2007 Intakes - February and July.
This course is not an academic study, rather a guided journey
of exploration and transformation through the art of story.
We take a joyful spiralling journey through the echoes in the
mind to make a story, particularly for young children, to heal
and instruct. We will start through the eyes of a beginner.
Melinda will lead you to build stories through familiar sensations,
from your time and place , both real and imaginary, through
thought, inner dialogue, wisdom , intuition and compassion into
the subject matter.
Learners are encouraged with a relaxed and friendly attitude
to attempt reflective writing exercises , writing verse or poetry
and small stories . Many stories for children are used as example
in the course thereby making the task of writing more accessible.
The realm of daydreams is fertile soil for story-making.
All souls long for that dream – the one where a story
blossoms from the pure life of the imagination itself. Be in
the moment.
Echoes in the Mind is a therapeutic story
making and story telling correspondence course for adult learners.
Once upon a time we innately told therapeutic and healing stories.
They hold magical metaphors which hold great meaning in our
minds – just like an echo. Such stories have faded.
Parents, teachers, carers or anyone working in holistic, health
and family therapies wishing to have impact on the wellbeing
of their children or clients can access therapeutic storytelling.
16 week course – 1 lesson per week + feedback (dialogue)
every 4 weeks
